Steffen Bilger was born in 1979 in Schongau. An examined lawyer, he worked for an energy company before being elected as a Member of the German Bundestag in 2009. He was member of the Parliamentary Transport Committee from 2009 to 2018 and member of the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Sustainable Development from 2014 to 2018. Steffen Bilger was appointed as Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in March 2018. He is married and has two children.
