Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Futaisi was appointed Minister of Transport and Communications in March 2011. Since then he has been actively involved in the development of the Sultanate’s transport and communications for the nation’s economy. He is also on the board of several government entities. 

He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley and has a Master’s Degree from Cornell University, USA. He worked in teaching and research for several years in the USA and Oman as well as being a member of several regional Committees, before taking his current role.
